A Stop & Shop in Attleboro was temporarily evacuated Wednesday due to an electrical fire, according to the Attleboro Fire Department.

At 7:35 a.m., the fire department responded to a reported fire at the supermarket at 251 Washington St., the fire department wrote on Facebook .

The building was evacuated when firefighters arrived, the post reads.

Firefighters found charring electrical wiring inside a freezer unit and shut down the power.

The Attleboro Fire Department Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the cause of the incident but initial findings suggest the fire originated from the electrical wiring inside the freezer unit, the department wrote.
