SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - A man has been arrested and charged in a shooting this past weekend at an apartment complex on South Bend’s east side.

47-year-old Dontrell Jones has been charged with battery by means of a deadly weapon, intimidation, unlawful carrying of a handgun and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon for his role in the shooting on Saturday at The Jefferson Apartments.

Police say the shooting happened around 9:45 p.m. on Rue Flambeau Street.

The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Jones is currently being held at the St. Joseph County Jail.
