The Long Beach Baseball Club won’t be known as that for much longer, and now, there is a concrete idea of what the team’s name might be.

In a media statement, the club, which will operate as an independent professional team, said it received 3,888 naming submissions from not just California, but 33 other states. An additional 974 ballots were cast in-person across Long Beach.

“Long Beach showed up in a big way, from neighborhood ballot boxes to votes pouring in from 34 states,” said Ena Patel, Long Beach Baseball Club President. “It’s been wonderful to see how invested the Long Beach community is in this team and wanting us to be playing at Blair Field in 2026.
