SpaceX chief executive Elon Musk is ratcheting up his high-risk critique of NASA interim administrator Sean Duffy, a member of President Donald Trump’s cabinet, injecting drama and uncertainty into the nomination process for the agency’s top job.

In a barrage of posts on his X social media platform that ran through Wednesday, Musk insulted Duffy, who is also the Secretary of Transportation, and criticized his proposal to fold NASA into the department.

The brash remarks come as the industry weighs the prospect of the transportation secretary continuing to helm the agency instead of fintech billionaire Jared Isaacman, a longtime Musk ally.
