PINSON, Ala. —
The man accused of shooting 18-year-old Kimber Mills and 3 others is now facing a murder charge following the teen's death and organ donation.
Steven Whitehead, 27, was initially charged with 3 counts of attempted murder in connection with the shooting, which occurred just after midnight Sunday during a bonfire party in a wooded area of Pinson commonly known as “The Pit.”
Whitehead was reportedly involved in an argument at the party before shots were fired.
Mills was pronounced dead Tuesday night after she was given an honor walk through UAB Hospital, and her organs were harvested. Her sister tells WVTM 13 that her heart was donated to a 7-year-old girl.
Whitehead is scheduled to face Judge Kandice Pickett later this week, where he will have the opportunity to address
