The Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), recently passed by the U.S. Senate, includes more than $284 million in new Alaska military construction and a wide range of defense-related provisions with direct impacts across the state.

Among the projects authorized are new and upgraded facilities at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Fort Wainwright, and Eielson Air Force Base, as well as funding for the Next Generation Interceptor missile system at Fort Greely and continued investment in the COBRA Dane radar at Eareckson Air Station.
