A suspect involved in a fatal shooting and child abduction in Brampton, Ontario, is dead following a police encounter. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning when 38-year-old Anthony Deschepper allegedly shot and killed a woman before taking his one-year-old child.

Niagara police reported that around 2:30 a.m., officers found Deschepper in a vehicle at a gas station located at the intersection of Thorold Stone and Montrose roads in Niagara Falls. The police's emergency task unit was called to the scene.
