Shillong, Oct 22: There is no respite from higher than normal temperatures in Meghalaya at the moment, with Sohra recording a high of 29.5 degrees Celsius yesterday, some 5.7 degrees above the norm.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) station at Umiam recorded a high of 30.6 C, which is 4.0 degrees higher than normal, while Shillong saw a high temperature of 25.5 C, 3.8 degrees hotter than normal.
Minimum temperatures were also above normal, with Shillong, Sohra and Umiam recording 16.2 C (+2.4), 16.4 C (+1.5) and 16.4 C (+0.9).
