New Jersey authorities filed a second lawsuit against Amazon in the span of a week, this one alleging disability and pregnancy discrimination by the e-commerce giant at its warehouses.
In the 10-count suit filed in Essex County court, the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office alleges that Amazon "systematically violated the civil rights of its pregnant workers and workers with disabilities, discriminating against them and denying them reasonable accommodations."
With roughly 50,000 New Jersey employees, Amazon is the state’s largest private sector employer. And Amazon recently announced its was adding 250,000 seasonal hires to its ranks across the U.S. for the busy holiday shopping season.
