A Corning woman suspected of using a dead person’s identity during an alleged shoplifting incident was arrested Monday in Chico, four days after being contacted by police at an Oroville business, according to a news release from the Butte County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman, identified as Aimee Henson, 49, initially was contacted by Oroville Police Department officers on Oct. 16 at an Oroville store where a loss prevention employee detained her for suspected shoplifting, according to the release.

Henson allegedly provided the officers a driver’s license of someone who was confirmed dead, and affirmed her alleged false identity when questioned, according to the release.
