A spokesperson confirmed that 40 positions at the North Bay Regional Health Centre are being cut.
In an email to the Nugget the statement from the hospital official says, “We are making these changes to find savings of $5.6M dollars. These will be partially offset by 14 new positions and minimized by early exit, retirement and redeployment offers.”

There are other changes comes as well according to the NBRHC.
“Some other changes that you might hear about include public parking rate increases (effective January 1, 2026) and physician leadership changes (20% reduction in leadership roles, with no change in physician numbers),” the company spokesperson.
