MARTIN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A precautionary boil water advisory has been issued for customers of Martin County Water District 1, affecting those living in the northwest portion of the county.

Martin County announced consumers may experience low water pressure and outages at this time. This increases the potential for bacteria to enter the water system.

Residents should boil water used for human consumption, such as washing dishes, cooking, and brushing teeth, for at least one minute, or use bottled water.

You can check the county’s webpage for updates or call the water department at 252-789-4345.
