MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis Safe Task Force investigators who responded to a woman’s early-morning homicide discovered another woman’s partially-dismembered body while revisiting the crime scene Wednesday morning.

At 1:30 a.m., the task force responded to a shooting call on Helsley Road in the Nutbush area, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

When officers arrived, they discovered that a woman had been shot and killed. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to law enforcement officials, two officers were injured while working the scene; a dog bit one officer, and a female suspect who unlawfully entered the crime scene punched another while being escorted out.
