MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) - According to a new report from the Universities of Wisconsin, the system is seeing that overall enrollment is up for the third straight year.
9 of the 13 UW universities saw enrollment growth, including UW-Green Bay, which has the fifth largest enrollment of the system.

They also say the overall enrollment improvement is due to a record 5.5% increase in new freshmen enrollment from Wisconsin residents, which system leaders attribute to the direct admit program that offers admission to Wisconsin students without applying, and the tuition promise, which offers four years of free tuition coverage to in-state students from low-income families.
