FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - More than 50 years ago, entrepreneur Dick Freeland moved to Fort Wayne and opened his first Pizza Hut franchise.

As his business expanded, he and his wife Deanna loved the community so much that they decided to buy land and build their dream home, which became known as the Freeland Castle.

Construction began in 1995. The Freelands lived on the 50-acre property during the five years it was being built, overseeing nearly every detail. The 39,000-square-foot home features eight bedrooms, nine full baths, six half baths, nine fireplaces, and more than 5,500 square feet of terraces overlooking a seven-acre lake.
