Libraries are for everyone.
That was the message delivered by officials during Wednesday’s Library Day celebration at Niagara Falls Public Library on Victoria Avenue.
“Libraries still matter, and they must continue to exist to give residents a place to explore, borrow materials and access services that are not available elsewhere in the community,” said library board chair Anne Andres-Jones.
Added vice-chair John Anstruther, “In this day and age now, we keep growing into things — it’s not just books. It’s magazines. It’s newspapers. It’s things online. It’s audio books. There are snowshoes. There are fishing rods. There are musical instruments. There are concerts that go on here. There’s programming for all ages.
“The library is your community.”
