EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A painting that disappeared for more than 20 years has made it’s way to Willard Library, and it now has a special twist.

Local artist David Earl Jones painted the Willard Library building to be auctioned off to benefit a local non-profit.

Officials say it later resurfaced in storage at the Evansville Museum, and was eventually returned to the artist.

That’s when he decided to expand the canvas and add more details that represent Willard Library, including the Grey Lady.

If you want to see the new take on this painting, it’s hanging in the main staircase at Willard Library.
