(KRON) -- A 14-year-old boy sustained "significant injuries" after he was hit by a Ford Transit van while riding an e-motorcycle. Now, Novato police are asking area residents to review home surveillance video to see if they captured the crash.

Novato police said its officers responded to the incident Tuesday at 5:40 p.m. in the intersection of Cambridge Street and Sunset Court.

"The e-motorcycle was driving south on Cambridge Street, and the Ford van was driving east from Sunset Court when the collision occurred," said police in social media post Wednesday.

Police confirmed the boy was the sole occupant of the e-motorcycle and taken to a nearby trauma center.
