SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) -- Muni Metro subway light-rail service in San Francisco was disrupted Wednesday afternoon because of an equipment issue near the Powell station, according to transit officials.

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency initially issued an alert at about 2:20 p.m. about the problem involving overhead equipment on the outbound side of the tracks near the Powell station.

Buses are taking passengers along Market Street between the Market & Steuart and Market & Castro stops, while inbound J-Church and N-Judah light-rail vehicles are turning back at Church & Duboce, the M-Ocean View and L-Taraval lines are turning around at Castro, and the K-Ingleside line will switch back at West Portal, according to the SFMTA.
