“We started off as humble granny flat builders and moved into modular homes just before the pandemic and that’s when our business basically exploded,” says Jessica Berry, managing director of PIQUE.

The premium modular building company is one of WA’s designer prefab house builders to experience unprecedented demand since the COVID pandemic and stimulus building grants caused major headaches in the mainstream construction sector.

“Since the pandemic our business has been doubling every year,” explains Berry.

“Before the pandemic, about 60% of our market was in the south west.

“Demand has now shifted into the Perth metropolitan area.”

Berry says the time it was taking to construct homes was causing many people to rethink the way they build.
