LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Public Schools students from Robinson Elementary got to see some engineering in action on Wednesday at the site of the 98th Street Water Transmission Main Project .

The kids learned about the infrastructure of water mains, including the importance of clean water, where it comes from and why cities need new water sources like Lincoln’s Water 2.0 Project. The 98th Street main will eventually serve as the nexus point to connect Lincoln to the Missouri River.

Students also got the chance to leave their mark on a section of the pipeline that will soon be underground by signing their names on it.

“It’s really fun cause it’ll be down in the ground for 100 years,” third grader Aurora said.
