BUFFALO, N.Y. — After years of planning, Buffalo Public Schools is officially moving forward with construction on a new central commissary that will transform how meals are prepared and delivered to thousands of students each day.

Located just across the street from the district’s current facility, the new 61,000-square-foot building will feature expanded kitchen and warehouse space, enhanced traffic flow for delivery trucks, and modern upgrades designed to support healthier, locally sourced meals.

“This has been a long time coming,” said Lou Petrucci, chief operating officer for Buffalo Public Schools. “With a good community project, we'll be able to better deliver the 27,000 meals we prepare every day.”
