Firefighters were called to a fire at a home in Salford this evening.

Three fire engines attended the scene on Kirkham Street, Eccles just after 5pm on Wednesday (October 22).

Crews from Salford Central and Agecroft fire stations used breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

They were on the scene for around one hour and forty minutes. No injuries have been reported.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just after 5pm this evening (Wednesday 22nd October), three fire engines from Salford Central and Agecroft fire station were called to reports of a building fire involving a property on Kirkham Street, Salford.
