BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) - The Raleigh County Public Library will be celebrating one of the most popular children’s book series this weekend.

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, at noon, they will be hosting their Hogwarts Halloween Hangout.

Amy Smith is the head of youth services at the library. She explained each kid will be assigned their own house, just like they would in the wizarding world of Harry Potter.

“That way it kind of separates families up a little bit so that children can maybe meet new friends, new faces [will enter] into their lives. We have a lot of friendships made here at the library. It is fun to watch,” said Smith.

Also on the docket will be jelly bean tasting, making goblets of fire, going on a bat hunt, and Harry Potter bingo. Registration is required to participate. To s
