SPRINGDALE, Ark — Multiple Northwest Arkansas child safety centers are experiencing massive funding cuts from the federal government, ranging from $90,00 to $600,000.
According to Natalie Tibs, the executive director of the Children and Family Advocacy center in Little Flock, programs like theirs serve the community anytime there are allegations of child sexual abuse or some sort of trauma.
"A child and their family can come here for a comprehensive array of services that's going to support them in being able to tell their story in a legally defensible way," Tibs said.
The sentiment was the same at the Children Safety Center in Springdale. Elizabeth Shackleford, the executive director at the center, says their services are essential.
