FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — Marion County school officials are looking at a Nov. 1 target date for a professional cleaning team to eradicate mold detected at East Fairmont High School.

The mold was first detected this summer in the athletic trainers' room, a weight room and a health classroom. The mold was isolated to those areas and those rooms were closed to students and staff. State air quality tests were delivered to the school board this week and showed the rest of the building, including the gymnasium, is clear.

"We still have things we have to address: we know we have to address some things with the hvac and the air flow. We have to get the space cleared and we still will keep students out of that space until we can get that swiftly cleaned professionally," Marion County Superintende
