BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Hudson Falls man who was shot by New York State Police in April plead guilty to two charges against him. Billy Cassell III plead guilty to criminal possession of a weapon and menacing a police officer.

Troopers were searching for Cassell III with an active arrest warrant on April 23 when they found him driving in South Glens Falls. He led police on a pursuit and crashed into a home at the intersection of State Route 9 and Catherine Street. He ran after crashing while carrying a loaded shotgun and tried hiding in a home.

Troopers said he raised the gun at law enforcement and refused to comply with orders to drop the weapon. The trooper shot him three times. He sustained a gunshot wound to the right shoulder

Cassell will be sentenced in January.
