TOLEDO, Ohio — Police in Findlay fatally shot an allegedly armed person Wednesday afternoon in a neighborhood that residents describe as usually peaceful.
“Usually, it’s pretty quiet. There are a lot of kids, a lot of dogs. Nothing really ever goes on here,” said Findlay resident Sophia Weaver.
The Findlay Police Department said in a news release that officers were dispatched to 1642 Cherry Lane around 2 p.m. for a report of a shooting. When dispatchers attempted to call the number back, they said no one answered.
Police say that when officers arrived at the home, a man opened the door and waved a gun at them. Officers fired several rounds, hitting the man multiple times.
