HANCOCK COUNTY, Ohio — One man was killed and another was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash west of Findlay late Wednesday afternoon, according to the Hancock County Sheriff's Office.

Jason Alford, 22, of Findlay, was pronounced dead at the scene on U.S. 224 near Township Road 123, and the driver of another vehicle, a 63-year-old from Alabama, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to the sheriff's office, Alford was driving a minivan west on the highway shortly before 5 p.m. when he went into the eastbound lane of the road as he approached the intersection with TR 123. He sideswiped a stopped sedan being driven by a 22-year-old from Gilboa and then hit a pickup truck, being driven by the Alabama man, head-on.

The sedan driver was not injured in the crash.
