PHILADELPHIA -- It was a night celebrating excellence in journalism at Temple University in Philadelphia.

The university presented the 2025 Lew Klein Excellence in Media Award to "World News Tonight" anchor and managing editor David Muir.

ABC News Group and Disney Entertainment Networks President Debra OConnell was there to present Muir with the prestigious award.

"I think it's so important that we all in this room remember to look behind us and make sure the door is open for the next person to come through," Muir said.

During his remarks, Muir offered inspiration to aspiring journalists.
