KIHEI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man has died two days after a crash involving an electric bike and a vehicle on Maui.
According to the Maui Police Department, the crash happened at around 7:22 a.m. Wednesday, at the intersection of Kanani and Auhana roads in Kihei.
Police said a white 2024 Ford F-150 was traveling east on Kanani Road and made a left turn towards the highway when it crashed into an electric-assisted bicycle that was traveling west on Auhana Road.
As a result of the crash, the 79-year-old bicyclist was ejected from the bike and sustained critical life-threatening injuries and was taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center, where he later died.
The victim was identified as Richard Holland, of Kihei.
