MESHOPPEN, Pa. — A couple of runners named Kenda(y)l helped the Elk Lake cross-country teams to a first-place finish in both the ‘A’ boy’s and girl’s races.

Kendyl Wiesgold and Kendall Jones took first, helping their team qualify for the state meet.

Jones, a senior, finished the course in 15:26.07, the fastest time of the entire meet. Jones repeated as District II ‘A’ Champion for the fourth-straight year.

“I know all my family's been a legacy of good runners, so it makes me feel pretty accomplished,” said Jones.

Jones has two older siblings who raced for Elk Lake, both of whom were three-time district champions.
