The doors of Kedarnath Dham, located in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, have been closed today for the winter season. The army band played traditional tunes during the farewell of Lord Mahakal. To witness this sacred moment, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also visited the temple.
Deity's palanquin will cover a 55-kilometer journey on foot from Kedarnath temple and reach Ukhimath on October 25. Here, for the next six months, Lord will be enshrined at his winter seat in the Omkareshwar temple. Devotees will also be able to have darshan of the deity at Omkareshwar temple from October 25 onwards.
