The special prosecutor in the case, Robert C. Cosgrove, had already withdrawn after being sued by the alleged victim.

The Norfolk County District Attorney's Office continues to prosecute Kearney in two cases tied to the Karen Read trial.

Kearney is attempting to get those charges thrown out; he has a hearing set Dec. 5.

Prosecutors on Wednesday, Oct. 22, dropped the criminal case that prompted a two-month jailing of Holden’s Aidan “Turtleboy” Kearney two years ago.

Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey, in a brief press release, announced prosecutors would no longer pursue the case; they will continue to prosecute Kearney in two others tied to allegations he harassed witnesses in the Karen Read murder case.
