SALT LAKE COUNTY (ABC4) — This week is national United Against Hate Week, and Salt Lake County leaders met to condemn hate crimes.
United Against Hate week takes place every year in October, and it calls "for seven days of local civic action by people in every community to stop the hate and implicit biases that are a dangerous threat to the safety and civility of our neighborhoods, towns and cities."
Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson, Salt Lake County Council Chair Dea Theodore, Salt Lake County Sheriff Rosie Rivera, and Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill, as well as the County Council and independent elected officials, held a press conference today to call out hate crimes.
