LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — It was a big moment for the medical field in Las Vegas Wednesday.
The Nevada Health and Bioscience Corporation unveiled its plan for a new medical lab. It will be a two-story building located next to UNLV’s Kirk Kerkorian Medical Education Building.
It’s the next major step in advancing health care and education in Southern Nevada. It will include health testing, academic training and life-saving blood services.
“Right now, a lot of blood goes out of state and then has to be brought back, so it was important to be able to do that here. Also, the laboratories, very sophisticated TB lab, it’s hard to do testing, this is going to be molecular testing for TB, so that’s a very exciting piece,” said Barbara Atkinson, NHPC Medical Consultant.
