LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- In an effort to address the ongoing doctor shortage, Nevada Health & Bioscience Corporation unveiled plans on Wednesday for a brand-new medical facility in the Las Vegas medical district.

The two-floor laboratory will be located next to UNLV’s Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine near Pinto and Shadow Lanes. According to Las Vegas City Councilman Ryan Knudsen, the location is meant to send a message.

“It's firmly stating to the rest of Nevada and the rest of the country that Nevada is ready and open for business for new professionals to come into our town and make Nevada healthier,” Knudsen said.
