The US military has killed five people in strikes against two vessels in the eastern Pacific Ocean, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says.
Mr Hegseth said the military had attacked a vessel in the eastern Pacific Ocean and killed two men on Tuesday.
It was the first known US military operation in the Pacific since President Donald Trump kicked off a new offensive against the drug trade.
Mr Hegseth said the military had struck another vessel in the eastern Pacific on Wednesday, killing three men.
The attacks came on top of at least seven previous US strikes that began last month, targeting vessels in the Caribbean Sea, and brought the death toll to at least 37.
