The UK faces snow across Scotland, England, Wales AND Northern Ireland this weekend as the Met Office forecasts "wintry" showers. Weather maps, on the Met Office website, show patches of white - signifying snowfall - north of the border this weekend.

Snow is most likely north of the border, but there are slim chances northern England, particularly the North East, and Wales and Northern Ireland see light flurries on Sunday morning.

In Scotland, areas most at-riks include the Cairngorms, Loch Lomand, Trossachs and Ross and Cromarty. The Met Office says Friday will be a day of sunny spells and heavy, blustery showers for many. These will gradually ease later in the day, although winds will remain strong, with coastal gales likely, particularly in the east and northeast.
