People collecting their NHS prescriptions could be hit with needless £100 penalties. Money experts have cautioned the problem is creating "unnecessary stress" as people incorrectly receive penalty charge notices when picking up their medication. ‌

Certain groups in England are entitled to free NHS prescriptions . However, if you collect your medication without paying for it and you lack a valid exemption from payment, you may receive a penalty charge notice. ‌
