Across the UK are places rich in haunting tales of apparitions and the paranormal. Some are rooted in myth and legend, while others are based on real-life events.
They include historical battlefields, abandoned abbeys and ancient stone circles. With spooky season upon us, researchers from Go Outdoors have named the best places to go for a bone-chilling walk.
One of these locations is right on our doorstep in Lancashire . Pendle Hill was named the fifth-spookiest walk in the country, according to the study.
