EVANSVILLE — The former Evansville fire chief who retired last year after receiving a formal notice of discipline from the city is now suing for thousands of dollars in unpaid wages.
According to records filed in Vanderburgh County Superior Court, Paul Anslinger is suing the City of Evansville for unpaid earned wages and liquidated damages totaling more than $30,000.
Anslinger, who was at the time a high-ranking Evansville Fire Department official and former chief, informed the city in April 2024 that he would retire, just hours after he received a formal notice of discipline. At that time, the reason for the discipline was not publicly disclosed.
