Officers stormed a railway line in Greater Manchester following a trespass incident.

Police descended on Flixton railway station, in Flixton, Trafford , at 7pm on Wednesday night (October 22).

British Transport Police says it was called out to reports of a trespass incident on the line between Flixton and Glazebrook stations.

Multiple police vehicles were seen in attendance at Flixton station.

Several officers were also seen on the station platforms as they responded to the incident.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of the railway.

Passengers faced disruption on the line at Flixton while officers responded to the incident.

Northern said its services had to run at a reduced speed.
