Artworks of Algerian-French artist Hanan Benammar, which have been on display at an art gallery in Kochi, were vandalised by two other artists, alleging obscenity.
The alleged vandalism was carried out by artists Hochimin P H and Sudamshu when the international exhibition titled Estranged Geographies was underway at the Durbar Hall Art Gallery in Kochi.
The exhibition, organised by the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi, was opened on October 18 and is slated to last for a month.
Benammar’s seven linocut graphic prints were on display at the exhibition, curated by Anushka Rajendran and Damian Christinger.
