After a four-and-a-half-year journey , Colorado City finally has its field of dreams.
The project to transform the town's only park, led by local nonprofit Valley First, celebrated its success with a formal ribbon cutting on Oct. 18, according to Valley First Board Secretary Misty Sprague.
The $3 million campaign to revitalize Greenhorn Park completed and improved upon a project that began in 2006 to build a football field and a surrounding track for the first two phases of a $750,000 investment from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) to create a multi-use sports park.
