DETROIT ― The Tigers certainly would prefer to be filling out lineup cards right now, rather than offseason wish lists.

But, well, here they are.

The offseason has arrived for the Tigers, who face an intriguing winter of roster retooling, given there’s been enough talent to get this team to Game 5 of the American League Division Series each of the past two years, yet there are obvious deficiencies, at least when it comes to offense and the bullpen.

Scott Harris, the Tigers’ president of baseball operations, talked at his season-ending press conference about the highly acclaimed farm system , which could bring the likes of top prospects Kevin McGonigle and Max Clark to Detroit in 2026, perhaps sooner than later.
