Former India cricketer Mohammed Kaif has said that, despite immense social media chatter around his form and the early wickets of skipper Shubman Gill and ace batter Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma kept his composure and showed his class against Australia in the second ODI, proving that he isn’t leaving anytime soon.
At 38, Rohit weathered the early spells from Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Xavier Bartlett to craft a composed 73 off 97 deliveries, featuring nine boundaries and two sixes, guiding India to 264/9 in their 50 overs.
In the first two overs of the innings, Rohit faced 11 balls and managed to score only a single run. His determined effort at the crease, however, earned widespread praise, with Kaif calling it ‘the most important innings of his career’.
When Australia put India
