Prior to the shooting, Lorincz had called 911 to complain about Owens and her children several times

Lorincz apologized after fatally shooting Owens, but also maintained that she felt "threatened" and said she was acting in self-defense

Ajike “AJ” Owens was a mother of four who was fatally shot by her neighbor Susan Lorincz on June 2, 2023.

Shortly after Lorincz, who is White, moved into the Ocala, Fla., neighborhood , she began calling 911 to complain about Owens' children , who, like their mom, were Black, for playing loudly in a field close to her home.

Over the next two years, Lorincz continued calling authorities to criticize their behavior and made a series of allegations agains
