Strictly Come Dancing's Tess Daly may have hinted months ago at the real reason for her exit from the hit show.

The presenter, 56, admitted she had been struggling to find balance in her career since she became a mother 20 years ago.

Back in March, Tess, who shares Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 15, with her husband, BBC Radio 2 DJ Vernon Kay, gave an insight into her family life, revealing she would work every day - even on family holidays.

With her daughter Phoebe already splitting her time between London and Dubai as a film production student, it may be Tess wants to spend more time with Amber before she flies the nest.
