The first 5p coins featuring King Charles III will soon be released across the UK. The Royal Mint has revealed that 23.2 million King Charles 5p coins are entering circulation throughout the UK. It marks the first occasion in 17 years that the 5p coin has undergone a redesign.

The new 5p coins showcase an oak tree leaf design on the reverse side. The oak tree has traditionally been linked with monarchs, and it also represents King Charles' commitment to the environment and sustainability.

The coins were dated and produced in October 2023 and will be accessible through Post Offices and bank branches nationwide. The 5p follows the launch of King Charles 50p and £1 coins.
